Dovetailed Keepsake Box, Cherry and Maple
This project was a gift. The construction uses traditional dovetails with the slightly less traditional style of rounding the corners. The lid uses high-quality Brusso hinges and remains secure with rare earth magnets. Finished with a wiping varnish for durability and buffed with wax for incredible smoothness.
Hard maple children's blocks, 50-piece set
These blocks are made from solid hard maple lumber. Hard maple, or acer saccharum, is (surprise, surprise) a much harder and more durable species than the other maples you'll see in various products. They will handle being thrown, dropped, and drooled on for generations. Really. They're finished with a simple non-toxic wax finish which makes them silky smooth.
